Tony Scott, director of ‘Top Gun,’ dead after jumping off Los Angeles bridge

Los Angeles Times: Tony Scott, well known for directing ‘Top Gun,’ ‘Enemy of the State’ and other well-known action movies died Sunday in an apparent suicide.

Scott’s body was pulled out of the water by authorities after he jumped off the Vincent Thomas Bridge in San Pedro.

“Investigators found a suicide note in his car, which was parked on the bridge.

Law enforcement sources said several witnesses saw Scott, the brother of director Ridley Scott, climb over a fence on the bridge and jump off.”
